Bear Lake

You can launch boats at the Utah State Park marina, but all other ramps are inaccessible because of ice along the shoreline. Try Rapalas and flatfish while trolling, or try jigs tipped with cisco while jigging.

Bountiful Lake

Spring is a great time to catch fish with a beadhead hare’s ear. For tips on how to use the hare’s ear with a spinning outfit, watch this brief video. All community ponds have been stocked in recent weeks, and the fishing is great.

Causey Reservoir

Fishing is fair for rainbow trout using PowerBait.

East Canyon Reservoir & State Park

Try using Rapalas, PowerBait and spinners from shore. Trollers should use dodgers with spinners and spoons. The water level is low. Check UDOT for updates on seasonal road closures.

Echo Reservoir

Try spinners, Rapalas and spoons.

Farmington Pond

All community ponds have been stocked in recent weeks, and the fishing is great. Spring is a great time to catch fish with a beadhead hare’s ear. For tips on how to use the hare’s ear with a spinning outfit, watch this brief video.

Hyrum Reservoir & State Park

Park Manager Chris Haramoto says that the Hyrum State Park Fishing Classic did not disappoint. Twenty-five tagged fish were caught, and many told a story about how the big one got away. PowerBait and other floating baits worked well. Big fish were stocked and some fun fishing waits at Hyrum.

Lost Creek Reservoir

Anglers report fair fishing with streamers, marabou jigs, spinners, PowerBait and nightcrawlers.

Ogden River

Flows are low and clear in the canyon, and fishing is good for bait, fly and lure anglers.

Pineview Reservoir

Anglers report that spring fishing is here! The water is rising noticeably every day. Anglers are fishing — in boats and from the shore — but there haven’t been any recent reports.

Rockport Reservoir

Fishing is good. Anglers are doing well from shore with PowerBait and worms. Boaters have had good success with Rapalas, spinners and bait. The fish seem to be in the top 20 feet. When the schools start feeding, they aren’t picky about which lures or baits that they’ll hit.

Weber River

Try egg and sow bugs or small crankbaits or spinners. The lower Weber was recently stocked with rainbows. Please remember that as of 2013 all cutthroat trout must be immediately released from Great Salt Lake to the Echo Reservoir dam.

Willard Bay Reservoir

Anglers are predicting that post-spawn walleye will become more active in about a month. The North Marina and North Dike access from the State Park are closed until further notice because of the diesel oil spill. The northern half of the reservoir is closed.
