VERNAL — Authorities have identified a 47-year-old Vernal woman who died in a weekend ATV accident in Ashley National Forest.

Officials say Janet Allen was killed Saturday afternoon after the vehicle flipped backwards on a steep incline near the Iron Springs Campground.

Steinaker State Park officials say Allen was driving with her 15-year-old daughter on the back of the ATV when the vehicle rolled. Allen was not wearing a helmet.

Her daughter was wearing a helmet and has since been released from the hospital.
