Wild Wednesdays: Wednesdays at 3:45 p.m. Free for ONC members/$2 children/$3 seniors/$4 adults. Meet in the visitor center. All ages welcome Today’s topic is “Colorful Confusion.” Find out the many different ways that critters use color in nature.
Earth Day Celebration: Noon-4 p.m. Saturday. $2 per person/donations gratefully accepted. Enjoy earth-friendly exhibitors, entertainment, food, nature crafts, and fun activities. Local beekeepers, urban gardeners, sheep shearing, and wool spinning will all be part of the many attractions. Tour green buildings, explore the trails and learn what you can do to improve the health of the planet.

Ogden River Clean Up — Big D Sports Park: Saturday. If you enjoy the Ogden River Parkway, join us for a Saturday morning to help clean this place up. A lot of garbage has accumulated over the winter months. Wear some old, grubby clothing, sturdy shoes and gloves. You will get dirty and maybe a little bit wet. We will finish around noon. Bird Walks: April 24 at Ogden Nature Center (North) at 2450 North, North Ogden. Meet at 8 a.m. at McDonald’s (Washington & 2600 North, North Ogden) for breakfast or at 8:30 a.m. to carpool. Take 2450 North off Mountain Road and cross the canal into a small parking lot.
Field Trip: 5:30 a.m. Saturday. Leks and Loons by Les: Meet at DWR Office (515 E. 5300 South, Ogden) This is our annual trip to the greater sage grouse Lek. We’ll also look for loons on East Canyon Reservoir. A rest stop at East Canyon State Park will be to our advantage. This is a fee area.
