Wild Wednesdays: Wednesdays at 3:45 p.m. Free for ONC members/$2 children/$3 seniors/$4 adults. Meet in the visitor center. All ages welcome. Today’s topic is “Snow! Snow! Snow!” How many words can you use to describe snow? Discover how animals use snow to travel, build homes, and even hide from predators. Don’t forget your hats, gloves, and snow boots.

OGDEN SIERRA CLUB
Ogden Overlook Snowshoe: Dec. 29. This is six miles round-trip, about 3.5 hours, and moderate intensity. This route is a favorite of the local snow enthusiasts. We will have great views of Sardine Peak, Ogden City, The Great Salt Lake, and Cold Water Canyon. Call Larry at 801-690-4335 for more information.
Bird Walks: Dec. 26 at Mantua Reservoir area. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at McDonald’s (1838 W. 2700 North, Farr West, just east of 1-15 exit 349) for breakfast or at 9 a.m. to carpool. Depending on weather conditions, the location may change.
Jan. 2: Willard Bay State Park: Meet at 8:30 a.m. at McDonald’s (1838 W. 2700 North, Farr West, just east of I-15 exit 349) for breakfast or at 8:45 a.m. to carpool. This is a fee area.

Dec. 28: Morgan County. Meet at Utah DWR office (515 E. 5300 South, South Ogden) at 7:30 a.m. to carpool for breakfast at Spring Chicken Inn in Morgan, or meet at the Inn at 8 a.m.

Join Utah State Parks for the inaugural Trifishalon ice fishing tournament series at Scofield, Rockport, and Starvation state parks. Scofield hosts the first event on Dec. 29; Rockport on Jan. 19; and Starvation on Feb. 9, ice conditions permitting. Cost is $50 for all three events, or $15 for one, $10 under 16 years. Register for all three events; enter your largest measured trout caught at each event and the person with the largest total measurement wins an $800 Sportsman’s Warehouse gift certificate.
