OGDEN NATURE CENTER

Wild Wednesdays: Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. Free for ONC members/$2 children/$3 seniors /$4 adults. Meet in the visitor center. Today’s topic is “The Bear Facts – Big, Hairy and a Little Scary!” Explore the wonderful world of bears with an Ogden Nature Center teacher/naturalist. Investigate the lives of black bears, grizzly bears and their polar bear cousins to the North.

Scout Saturdays: 9 a.m.-noon Saturday. Fulfill merit badge requirements for Native vs. Invasive, Conservation, and Venomous Reptiles. $5 per scout. Reservations and a non-refundable deposit required. Please call 801-621-7595.

Kundalini Yoga 8 Week Session: 6:30-7:45 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 21-March 11. $45 members, $55 non-members. This Kundalini yoga class is an 8-week series ideal for beginners or for those that want a gentle Kundalini practice. Call to pre-register at 801-621-7595.

WEBER PATHWAYS

OGDEN SIERRA CLUB

Wheatgrass Canyon Snowshoe: 10 a.m. Saturday. This is six miles round-trip, about 3.5 hours, and moderate intensity. This is a narrow canyon with interesting rock formations, high canyon walls, forested slopes, and lots of snow. Moose, deer, elk and eagles have been spotted in the area. WASATCH AUDUBON

Bird Walks: Jan. 23 at Beus Pond. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at McDonald’s (5745 S. Harrison) for breakfast or at 9 a.m. to carpool. If time permits, we may also check out Glasmann Pond near the parking lot for McKay-Dee Hospital.

Field Trip: 9 a.m. Saturday. Ogden Hotspots: We will bird the cemetery, the new trail on the north side of the cemetery, the trail behind the stadium to Washington Boulevard, and then check out the Nature Center. Meet at Smith’s (12th & Jefferson) at 9 a.m. Bring a lunch and a drink.

WSU OUTDOORS

Kayak roll session: 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Weber State Swimming Pool. $8 with own equipment/$20 equipment included. Ages 16 and up. Registration is required at least 24 hours in advance. Call 801-626-6373 or stop by to register.

Ski & Snowboard Tuning/Waxing Basics Clinic: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Outdoor Program, 4022 Taylor Ave., Ogden. $15 WSU students, $20 non-students. In this clinic you will learn the basics of keeping your equipment in great shape to insure it keeps performing to its potential.

MISCELLANEOUS

Golden Spike Gem & Mineral Society will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. tonight in the Wattis-Dumke Room on the second floor of Union Station, 2501 Wall Ave., Ogden.
