Wild Wednesdays: Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. Free for ONC members/$2 children/$3 seniors/ $4 adults. Meet in the visitor center. All ages welcome. Today’s topic is “Shorebirds 101.” Get up close and personal with Einstein, the Ogden Nature Center’s American White Pelican, whose beak can hold more than his belly can. Learn about the special adaptations that shorebirds have. Discuss the importance of the Great Salt Lake and learn about the different shorebirds that call Utah home.
Ogden Valley Garden Tour: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. $15 ONC members/ $20 non-members. Tour eight magnificent residential gardens in Ogden Valley. Discover ideas for your own garden and revel in the colors, textures and design of these unique spaces. Purchase tickets online at www.ogdennaturecenter.org, in person at the Nature Center, or at the gardens on the day of the tour. All proceeds will benefit the Nature Center.
Science Hikes: 8-11 a.m. Saturday hike to Malan’s Peak. Weber State College of Science staff and student leaders will talk about about physiology and changes in your body while hiking. For more information, call 801-682-5545 or email email@example.com.

Skyline Trail Hike: Sunday. Start at the North Ogden Divide Trailhead. Approximately nine miles. This trail has steep switchbacks, both on its north and south ends, but these are worth your trouble because the trail’s main length follows the relatively easy ridgeline or “skyline” running from North Ogden Divide to Ogden Canyon. This trail is popular with hikers, bikers, and equestrians. Bring lunch and water. Call Joanie at 801-399-0034.
Bird Walks: today at Bird Song Trail Area. Meet at Dylan’s (12th and Monroe) for breakfast at 7:30 a.m. or at the trailhead (west parking lot area of Rainbow Gardens) at 8:30 a.m.
July 18: Perception Park, South Fork. Meet at Dylan’s (12th and Monroe) for breakfast at 7:30 a.m. or at Smith’s parking lot (12th and Harrison) to carpool at 8:15 a.m.
Weber River Inflatable Kayak Trips: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. $20 WSU students, $30 non-students. Come join us as we attempt to beat the summer heat. Please bring snacks, water, and some dry clothing to change into. All participants must be able to swim confidently. Ages 18 and up. Meet at the Outdoor Program, 3301 University Circle, WSU campus. Weekend Snake River Raft Trip: July 20-22. $90 WSU students, $110 non-students. The WSU Outdoor Program presents “Big Waves, Big Fun” in Alpine Canyon on the Snake River near Jackson, Wyo.
