Wild Wednesdays: Wednesdays at 3:45 p.m. Free for ONC members/$2 children/$3 seniors/ $4 adults. Meet in the visitor center. Today’s topic is “Rascally Rodents.” Imagine what it would be like to have teeth that never stop growing. Rodents make up 40 percent of all mammal species. Join an Ogden Nature Center teacher/naturalist as we explore the world of squirrels, mice, beavers and porcupines.

Egg-cellent Adventure — Birds not Bunnies Egg Hunt: 10 a.m.-noon Saturday. $3 members/$5 non-members. All ages welcome. Are you ready for a unique Easter egg hunt? Join the Ogden Nature Center’s teacher/naturalists on a true egg hunt challenge. Several nests with painted wooden eggs will be the object of the hunt as you make your way along the trails. RSVP by 5 p.m. Friday.

Spring Yoga Class — Kundalini Yoga 8-week Session: 6:30-7:45 p.m. Mondays, March 25 through May 8. This Kundalini Yoga class is ideal for beginners or for those who want a gentle practice. Bring your own mat and blanket. Wear loose comfortable clothing. Call to pre-register.


Rock Corral Antelope Island Hike: Saturday. This hike is 10 miles round-trip, about 4-5 hours, and moderate intensity. It is on the west side of the island and is one of the most scenic spots in Northern Utah. There are great views of the lake and western shore line. We’ll take a break at the historic Rock Corral. Call Larry at 801-690-4335 for meeting place and time.


Bird Walks: Today at Riverdale Parkway. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at McDonald’s (Riverdale Road & 900 West) for breakfast or at 9 a.m. at trip start: From Riverdale Road., drive north on 700 West for two blocks, right on 4300 South, then right on 600 West to the parking lot.

March 27: Ogden Cemetery. Meet at 8:15 a.m. at Dylan’s (12th and Monroe) for breakfast or at 9:15 a.m. at the cemetery entrance at 20th and Jefferson.

Field Trip: Saturday at Lee Kay Ponds. Meet at the Village Inn in Roy (1780 W. 5600 South) at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast or meet at the Inn at 8:30 a.m. to join the group. We will visit the ponds, the International Peace Gardens, the Salt Lake Cemetery and check out City Creek Canyon. Bring a lunch and water. We will finish at about 2 p.m.


Kayak roll session: 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Weber State Swimming Pool. $8 with own equipment/$20 equipment included. Ages 16 and up. No prior experience necessary, but swimming proficiency required. Come join the experienced team from Rapid Progression Kayak School as they provide some great instruction on how to roll. ACA-certified instructors. Spring Slush Backcountry Yurt Trip: 7 a.m. March 29-8 p.m. March 30 at Bloomington Canyon, Idaho. Mandatory pre-trip meeting at 5:30 p.m. March 25 at the Outdoor Program (Annex 9). $35 students/$40 non-students. Participants will be required to have avalanche safety equipment.
